I don’t have all of my bills. What can I do?
With your permission we will request itemized statements from your hospital and doctors. We will need the name, address and telephone number for each provider of service, in order to help you.
Ours services are provided on a contingency basis, an hourly basis or a combination of both. If we are able to save you money we ask for a percentage of that amount. This includes adjustments to accounts, discounts settlements and implicit/ explicit saving.
We ask for payment for medical records request fees that your providers charge. We will ask for reimbursement for these fees.
There are such complexities to medical billing that most people feel overwhelmed by the task. We do believe that this information should be made to be understandable to everyone. However, the challenges you may come across are ones that we work with in a daily basis, including translating medical terminology and having the time and energy to work the system and understanding the complex coding issues and laws.
How many past years can you go back?
Usually 2 years is the typical time frame. If there are still open and outstanding bills, there is a good chance we can help you.
Can you help me negotiate my hospital bill? I don’t have insurance.
All bills including hospital bills can be negotiated under the Federal Fair Credit Billing Act. If you are un-insured or underinsured and want to pay your bills, but the bills seem outrageous, we will negotiate your bill on your behalf. Typically an insurance company pays the provider a portion or contracted rate and the patient pays the balance. If you are uninsured, the patient is expected to pay 100% of the bill. Typically the patient who least can afford the bill has to pay the most. Let us help you to negotiate your payment.
